1. Use a treated dust cloth attached to a long handle (or a broom head) to avoid bending over, or use a vacuum wand with a dust brush attachment.

2. Baseboards painted with enamel or oil-based paint that have become scuffed and smudged can usually be scrubbed with a cloth or sponge moistened in an all-purpose household cleaner.

3. Do a final wipe with a damp cloth. This technique may not work as well on latex paint. Regardless of finish, be wary of using abrasive cleaners or pads since a scratched surface will require re-painting.

4. Baseboard radiator exteriors may be dusted and cleaned as above.
